The Musician's Musician
The musical journey of Kemper Crabb has been groundbreaking in more than one genre. As a forerunner of Christian Contemporary Rock, he championed this culture changing expression. He founded or participated in the bands ArkAngel, RadioHalo, Atomic Opera and Caedmon¹s Call. Also known for his 1982 iconic solo album, The Vigil, which explored ancient Christian melodies and symbols, he's gathered a following of the faithful in the USA, Asia and Europe. Favorite musicians such as Kerry Livgren (Kansas), Rick Wakeman (Yes) and Stevie Ray Vaughn have all counted themselves fans of this and other varied albums. Kemper recorded A Medieval Christmas in 1995, a collection of medieval Christmas songs and hymns, and has played these beautifully crafted songs for two decades to audiences of all backgrounds.
Recent success has been with his PBS special, Downe in Yon Forrest, a broadcast experience around the album. The success of this highly viewed production has created a demand for another concert experience focusing on treasured hymns with Kemper's own unique viewpoint. With a guitar or a collected period instrument in-hand, he continues to create musical offerings for his audience around the world.
